OLI improves learning by closing the gaps between a well-designed competence-based curriculum, educational planning, educational resources, and teaching practices.
Think of effective education as bridging the gap between teaching and learning. Effective systems and practices are based on a realistic and relevant curriculum, made operational in the classroom. This helps students develop the competences needed to fulfill their dreams, find a satisfying, decent and well-paid livelihood, relate successfully to their family, community and society, and realize their full potential.
An education system may have a modern, competence-based curriculum, but it will do little good if teachers can't access it, don't know how to use it with their students, or lack the teaching and learning resources they need in the classroom.
OLI contributes to a vision of effective education by building bridges that close the conceptual, technical and practical gaps between a well-designed competence-based curriculum, educational planning, educational resources and teaching and learning practices.
